Sports Leaders UK Academy Status!

Support Sport have recently received the Support Sport Regional Academy Status from Sports Leaders UK's, Richard Shenton. Joe Graham received the award in December, describing it as a mark of the work that Support Sport had been involved with young people in the last few years.

Support Sport were put forward for the award, due to their high standards of delivery, and the additional support that we provide for young people to access and follow on from receiving their qualification.

Since Support Sport began delivering Sports Leaders Awards In 2010, we have approximately 75 young people that have gained support through our Sports Leaders Awards Levels 1 and 2 in Warwickshire alone. In under a year of delivering PlayMakers Awards (an introduction to Sports Leadership), Support Sport have already delivered 52 awards for children aged 9-12.

Tutor Ellis Hemingway commented:

"Although we are supporting more and more people, its not as if its about numbers, we move heaven and earth to support young people that we are working with to use the skills that they are building. Im grateful to Support Sport myself as I had a lot of support to get to where I am now, and I can see there are more opportunities for me!"

Support Sport would like to thank all of our funders, partners, staff, volunteers and most importantly young people for everybody's hard work in achieving this feat.
